I'll try and do a short reply lol.
Back when I owned a theatre production company (it was more because we used to book clowns, musicians, or anything artsy ) it was great times. We were a small company so my partner and I did it all from set building, lights and sound, direct and act plus do all our own advertising. The problem was it was hit and miss. One play could pull in tons of $ and others you would loss on. My partner wanted to rent a church in a real out of the way small town to open our own theatre in. I felt the rush was high for its location. There was an actor who wanted to by my half so after some talks I sold my half and went into the video store and collectable card games stores which did me well for around 12 years before the net and satellite killed me lol. As for the production company /theatre it closed down after I'd say a year. I didn't stop working with my old company I'd act or do lights and sound with them. They moved into the town I lived in at the time and got around 2 more years out of it before closing. So that in short is why. Mind you I'm writing 2 plays atm just slowed down once I found imgflip lol

Have you heard of Shel Silverstein's one-act adult plays? Saw a couple at a bar Saturday night (art and booze says all you need to know about Portland). One was the infamous "Meat and Potatoes". Went well with beer.

Yea, that's the problem with the "Entertainment Industry", steady and profitable work isn't particularly the norm especially when just starting out! At the Ski slopes it's steady in that there's something to maintain, and I imagined it's open in the summer for camping or resort or something like that? Most I've seen are also business confrence centers/Spa although I know some that just shut down till next season. My older sister Allison got her Master Degree in Theater from th Unviserity of Maryland, it's a passion(Obviously!) she's a teacher but anytime she can do plays in the classroom or if she can go see a show locally in Annapolis/D.C./Baltimore she's there. To the rest of her family, OMG! What a freaking Drama Queen! Lol. My sister getting injured/stung/bitten the intensity of the screams, the flailing and taking 5 minutes to fall on the in agony was a major Hollywood production! I believe she won a few Ocsars! Lol

Yeah I ran my own business and the ski at the same time. The last year's of my stores I took the summers off the ski and just worked for myself. My back couldn't handle full time maintenance anymore and saved me hiring someone else to run the stores.
I've seen drama queens in the business but also regular handsome down to earth people like you and I lol

When my sister would do the "Dramatic Injured stagger and fall" my Mom, Dad, Brother and other sister used to stand up,and clap and yell "bravo!" It's just part of her personality, hilarious, and often amusing!

I know that feeling.

It's hard to let someone you love has to go. Especially if you own a child who just now grow up as an adult and will be on their own. One of the parent's nightmares.

I dont know that feeling. Prolly because its parenthood, and i havent reached that stage yet, or I am just way to petrified that this was some awkward MLP crap.
