The goddess of fertility in ancient times was "Ishtar." The name Ishtar is where we get the word "Easter." Bunnies and eggs have nothing to do with each other, except that they are both symbols of fertility: Bunnies because they reproduce like crazy. Eggs, obviously, because you're infertile without an egg.

Do a little more research. People who believe what you are saying have not researched the topic.

If you can refute the truths and the logic in the video I will delete my comment. Or will you just use your genetic fallacy and discredit the source of the argument instead of engaging the argument?

Anyone can make a video and say in it whatever they want. That doesn't make it true. And it's not my job to refute it, however much you would like to make it my job. I simply disagree with it. I would not want you to delete your comment, in any case. I have no problem with disagreeing with people. Easter has pagan roots. The church, early on, assimilated people who were accustomed to celebrating spring equinox. I am not, as the video said, part of some "anti-holiday" crowd. I believe celebrating Easter as resurrection day is legitimate. I'm just not going to do it at a church where they celebrate by painting and hiding eggs.

Fair enough. I just hope you attend a church that believes like you and don't sow discord at a church that thinks different because they have liberty to celebrate whatever holiday they want any way they want.

Definitely not a sower of discord.

Watched the video. I disagree with it. Bunnies and eggs are fertility symbols. What else could it mean? And these come from ancient pagan festivals that were incorporated into the church (and shouldn't have been). I am not against the true celebration of the resurrection.

I believe this was pointed out in the video. Association fallacy. But if your conscious tells you not to celebrate Easter don't do it!
I personally don't celebrate Christmas. Not because of the bad arguments and faulty logic of the "anti-holiday" crowd though. Just because I don't like the commercialism and secularization.

I did not say I don't celebrate Easter. I just don't celebrate it in the pagan way. I think we are more together in our thinking than we are apart. I think I got pegged as some "anti-holiday" person, which I've NEVER been.

Good for you brother! I don't participate in the "egg hunts" or "decorations" at my church either. But I don't think little of other Christians who do. I don't feel bad for them either. I hope they have a good time. I feel bad for the folks who only know about the bunnies and chocolate eggs at Easter or just the presents and trees at Christmas and don't know about the birth of our Lord and the risen Christ.
