I am commenting with the question...what do the points get us? I am new here.

Hi ShannonStallard. The points are a kind of score, most users don't pay too much attention to them, some do. Sometimes it's nice to congratulate a fellow user when they reach a milestone like 10,000 points or a million. Tokinjester is right, after 1000 points you can make meme comments with the popular meme templates. For me the fun really started after 6000 points when I was able to make meme comments with custom templates (any image). 1000 points gives you the ability to post meme comments. that's it. :p

20K allows you 3 submissions a day.

submissions vary depending on the frequency of your submissions. i'm on 400k+ but usually only get 2 submissions/day because i don't submit so much :/

Yesterday was the first time I missed a submission since I started this account. I notice that most of those I've passed on the leaderboard are mostly inactive/semi-active. A large number, though, have a lot more featured memes than I. I'm cool with it. The bar keeps raising

When I was newer, I thought they builrt up... they do not... DANG IT!

The only way you can get more is do like my cousin did. He got online about 1:00AM, EST. Found three pics, made his memes and posted them before 2AM. Them he got three more pics, memes them, and waited. 3AM rolled around, and he posted those. Yes, he made 6 memes in barely more than an hour and a half.
