Carbon credits are traded like commodities on carbon credit markets.
Yes, pollution bought and sold for profit.
By the very corporations they're supposed to punish.

Absolutely. The car was just used as a starting point. The point is that with all the crying over repeal of EPA regulations, many people are missing that fact that climate change is an industry that makes trillions.

Imposing a flurry of regulations can be jarring to people's lives and the economy. But climate change propaganda aside, there still is a need for measures to prevent pollution. Ironically, by treating carbon as a pollutant, other forms of real pollution are often ignored. Still, some end up being covered as well.
Also, conserving and maximizing the efficiency of fossil fuels is the only way to assure they will be around in the future for our grandkids. There will not be any electric or solar powered airplanes in the future. Mining will cease. Same goes for tractors.

I'm not spraying extra aerosols so I can have an early spring, but neither am I burning candles and flushing once a day so the recycling company CEO's can buy an Ipad and a Tesla.
