People get confused about this. Satan was cast out of heaven for refusing to submit to humans. God intended for the angels to be the protectors of humanity and guide them. Satan in his pride and arrogance thought that humans should be beneath the angels. So now he lies and deceives humans so that he can torture them in revenge.
