Quite a storyline with that, I hear. I'll see if i can get Swiggy to discuss it. He was around then and started to explain

It scares me when I think HoneyMoon is close to being a grandmother by now! Lol. I was around then, but not quite old enough to appreciate this particular comic strip. I'd be interested in knowing what Swiggy has to say!

I remember reading the series that lead up to her birth. How much, I don't recall exactly.

Seems her grandfather was miffed his daughter marry an Earthling. He'd kidnapped Moon Maid, who was due anytime, and Junior Tracy wanted his wife and unborn child back. He did up an elaborate disguise, and infiltrated the magnetic ship the governor and Moon Maid were on. The governor wanted his grandchild born on the moon. Legal citizenship status. Junior was discovered about midpoint, and the governor was ready to kill this foul Earthling that despoiled his daughter. It didn't matter that the kids had been married a couple years, already. Just as he's about to end Junior's life, there's a slap and baby crying. It distracts the governor enough that Junior breaks free, and rushes to his wife. In true comic serial tradition, we don't see the baby for two weeks. During that time, the governor has a change of heart and grudgingly accepts his son in law. Honey Moon Tracy was born September 12, 1965, exactly at the halfway point between the Earth and the moon. Hope she never runs for president. Talk about a birther issue. That being the case. She's a Virgo, that IRL, would be 51. Instead, she appears to be in her early 20s and is a private detective in New York City. Her magnetic powers have returned and increased. Those she owes to her mother. Her mother was murdered when a car bomb intend for Dick Tracy, exploded. A toddler, Honey witnessed this.

Dick Tracy was around long before I took my first breath, and I doubt if they'll kill him off before I go, but on that day, the strip will add Jr. To it, and a century later, Honey's step brother will have it with III added.

I suspect Honey will end up in her own strip or comic book.

Our paper dropped Tracy back in the late 60's.

Not a problem. The comics are one of my many interests. Closer to passions! I've been steering CousinJohn to some of the lesser known cartoons from the early 60s, before his time. If we do a comic strip run, I'm armed for bear on that one. If we ever have a crazy car week, I'll defer to my cousin on that one.

My dad was a huge Gasoline Alley fan, AND I have an extreme infatuation with Irving Phillips' THE STRANGE WORLD OF MR. MUM.

Gasoline Alley has sure changed in the 80 years or so it's been around. I've never heard of Mr Mum, but your sample tells me I should find more. I love that sight gag humor that makes you think. A lot of people would look at it and say I don't get it. Those are the folks that complain about educated people being out of touch.

Now to go to my other tab and start Googling the strange world.

I miss once in a while, too. I always check on responses when I get notifications, eben on other people's memes.

I like those Mr Mum toons. When I get my computer hooked up, to internet, I'll be snagging them all. That's some good stuff. New Yorker quality.

Thanks! I was able to get my cousin to fill in some of the background on the strip. Did you know he started collecting comic books back in the 60s (don't ask what happened to his original collection)

I keep my game informer magazines, so I would understand why he did this in the first place.
