If you know of any accounts that are 100% made for the purpose of trolling let me know, I'll get them ghosted as well. I'm racking up the troll kills. I would have used that template for the meme but I only have it at home and haven't added my latest kill marker.

I don't mate. What defense do we have against a user if they downvote us out of sight with their 6+ alt accounts?

Currently none. My advice for that is not violate TOS if you have a disagreement with someone. Some memers have had success emailing [email protected] if they've been downvoted maliciously and haven't broken TOS.

I let them know the current system is broken and abused, and there's a chance a better system will be put in place. They seemed receptive to my suggestion, but when, if, how and with what changes is all unknown.

Since I ultimately don't know what their plans are I don't really want to say much else since it there's always a chance it won't happen at all.

How can you tell the Obama one was? I don't see anything on that one that indicates downvotes (since all your comments are replies the order wouldn't be altered which is the best indicator).

The Obama gif was at about 1,200 views 119 upvotes and rising fresh to the front page and then it sank while it was still picking up upvotes. Some of the other memes/gifs are still there that mine was sat above. Does it have a timer for how long it can be on the front page.

No one really gets the full formula. I have seen a pattern though. All memes continue to get upvotes, even on their way down the front page. What matters most (I've kept count numerous times) is who is getting the most upvotes in a certain timeframe.

For instance if your meme and my meme both hit the front page at the same time, and I'm 15 upvotes ahead of your when we both hit, if you close my "lead" to only 5 upvotes you'll end up passing me at some point. I don't think it's hourly based, but maybe total upvotes per 3 or 4 hours.

I've had memes jump to page 5, go instantly cold, and then drop like a rock from lack of current upvotes.

This is how it normally goes then the views stop and its nowhere in sight

I'm convinced that your points also factor into your placement on the Hot pages. At least, to start. How long ago it Featured, the ratio of views to upvotes/downvotes, and the comment traffic are the other factors.

Also can your memes be downvoted out of the latest feature pages?

Once your meme features it can be downvoted back to submitted status. Once it has 1 or 2 upvotes its difficult for that happen.

The way to check is to look at the area where the tags are and see if it says "featured" or "submitted." Another way to more easily tell is if it still shows on your profile page. If it shows there it's still on both the Newest and Hottest pages.

Thanks Ghost, I just realised by looking at your own 'Hot' submissions you might be able to see whether it's been downvoted. My top meme in hot received 2 upvotes this morning whereas my lifting the lid meme received 9. It still doesn't show at the top or near the top of my hot list

From what I have been able to figure, if your meme gets 2 more downvotes than upvotes, it gets un-Featured.

Interesting and thank you. I'm getting a better understanding from you guys. There's an example with Craziness_All_The_Way she had 3,800 views 200+ upvotes then she's top of the 2nd page. Memes and gifs with 160+ upvotes see 10,000 views+ (find me one that doesn't then find one that doesnt with 213 upvotes) the gif was made 3 days ago its ridiculous.
