Dora | Can't we all just get along? | image tagged in dora | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Lol, thanks. The same goes for religious memes, memes about sexuality, memes about social struggles and I'm sure I've missed some.

But That's None Of My Business Meme | THE WORLD IS FULL OF PEOPLE WAITING TO BE OFFENDED BY SOMETHING BUT THAT'S NONE OF MY BUSINESS | image tagged in memes, but thats none of my business, kermit the frog | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Yeah, everything can offend someone. We humans need more tolerance for dissent.

Totally agree. When it gets to the point where one tells the other "I hope you all die!" someone has a major issue. I try to be thick skinned but nobody wants to be insulted. Usually something like what I just submitted here is my response.

I totally agree as well. The main problem, as I see it, is people taking everything so personally - and once that happens people offend one another on a whole new level; aggressively; in writing. Sometimes people need to look past the disagreements and just overlook the memes that don't fit their world-view, instead of engaging in online wars which almost no one ever wins anyway, because it's written, and because people don't know the other persons circumstances and therefore motives.

You're right. A lot of people are always playing the part of a victim. Even though you never said an offensive they're always ready for a fight.

The one thing that bothers me about political memes is the poster hates it when someone with a different answer answers their question. They always resort to bully stance or name calling and even threats.

On the other hand, I occasionally come across someone that will reply in a civil manner. I had an instance this morning. An unusual statement concerning politics and religion. I posited a question that could have been taken as trolling or a sincere question. It didn't take long for a reply to come from the poster, and it was a sincere reply. Well thought out and worded. If I were a troll, I could have dissed his reply and meme, but I didn't. I constantly say that I try to learn something new everyday, and what he said added to it. I thanked him sincerely, ignored the other comments that could have been troll bait, but went away saying we may not always agree, but he has a stance with some knowledge. I'll use what I learned today in a discussion I'm have with a cog in a party organization. He's finally beginning to see what I've been saying for the last year.

And the reason why you didn't disrespect that person is because you realize everyone has a point of view and you're too decent of a person to stomp all over others feelings. I wish some of the newer users had such qualities.

Oh, I won't say I won't stomp over fools. I respect his opinion AND the way he presented. And, as I pointed out, it's a piece of a puzzle that I didn't even know I needed.

This is why I chose to be called a Progressive instead of a liberal or conservative. I won't even take the moderate label. I look at each issue individually. Everything has repercussions.

I stopped submitting political memes because they're all spam at this point. It's not like anyone is saying anything new. Well, I was since I think both sides suck for various reasons, but still...it's just a silly pissing match of who is better when neither is, or dick sizing about who is the biggest victim of being disagreed with.

After a while it is a waste of time. Neither wing has candidates that are squeaky clean, the only reason someone gets into politics is to make big bucks, not for the betterment of their fellow man.

Which is all well and good, personally I like here different points of view. However if one side or the other hasn't done their homework and doesn't know what they're talking about they shouldn't even be in the conversation. If I see a meme and I don't know about the subject, I'll just read the thread and enjoy the fireworks...unless I have a wise ass remark. Mostly that's why I'm here, just to share memes and have a good time.

Mostly, I don't have the time to research particular politicians. I work 12 hour shifts and the rest of my time is sleeping and trying to have a family life. As I said though, I will make comments if I know about the subject. Otherwise, just like you, I'll move on.

That's my philosophy... but with 3 memes a day, some of them will be stinkers
