Wouldn't that still count though? A pun example i have is "It was a blast" and whatever "it" was involved a blast of some sort. Saying it's a blast is an expression, but using it will talking about an actual blast would make it a pun. So choking someone and saying "Don't choke" would be a pun.PLUS aspirate is another word meaning "with an exhalation of breath." He's used jokes before, like when he killed the captain in Empire Strikes Back and says "Apology excepted" it's not a pun in that case but it is ironic for him to say he forgives him but still kills him.

Besides, how else would you interpret "Don't choke" if it's not a pun it's still a joke. Unless you know of an expression (and know the meaning of an expression) where you say "Don't choke" without being sexual.

I've had this conversation with my buddies a while back, I see what you mean, you think it's a joke but not a pun, but when you look at multiple puns you start to see what it means to be a pun, and while you may or may not like it, it's a pun.

Those aren't PUNS. A pun is a specific type of wordplay.

PUN wordplay is interchanging "handle" and "hide" with similar SOUNDING composer names. With the pig pun, it's interchanging "steal" with "squeal" because pigs squeal and it SOUNDS like steal.

Vader's line isn't a PUN. Clever? Yes. Ironic? Yes. But not a PUN.

You have made a good point, sadly my opinion of puns can't rrally change. I admit your right bit i'm still gonna call ot a pun because that's how my brain takes it. Not trolling on that part, just being kinda stubborn. I guess it depends on the person, thanks for the insight.
