You are absolutely correct. That being said, people ought to have the common (perhaps uncommon) sense to hire the professionals to take care of security issues. Just the humble opinion of this old retired MIT Computer Scientist.

As an addendum, I am quite certain that the USA regularly tries to hack North Korean Systems, Iranian systems, Yemeni systems, etc., all of the time. Of course the Russians are trying to hack us. We regularly hack others. But the interesting part to me is that the press sold focuses on the hacking, and pays no attention to the negligence of leaving doors wide open. Yeah, hacking is done by every government everywhere. The good ones aren't even known. You know how this works...

Point being if people weren't stupid online they would have far less to worry about. I've said it for years, Internet responsibility goes a LONG way...

and not forgetting Shawn Lucas who was suing the DNC for their part in stealing the Democrat nomination from Sanders. The whole "Russian Hacker" thing is probably the most effective smokescreen of all time :-/

RNC was hacked too... just none of it released. Yet...

We really do need to strengthen our server security, honestly with so many things in there I'm suprised it isn't well protected against hacks from the beginning.
