Yes, it is. And what's wrong with men and women, or boys and girls, knowing there are options. Don't let that boys and girls statement upset you. The reality is that kids have sex and young girls get pregnant. Same with married couples. I'm glad my first partner knew a little about it. It saved me from becoming a father before I was ready.
Compare, for example, Colorado that has a very good birth control education system as well as availability to birth control methods. Texas, OTOH, prefers to keep their females ignorant and pregnant. As difficult as it is in Texas to get an abortion, the abortion rate is a lot higher there than Colorado. Also the number of teen pregnancies.
My ex didn't know anything about birth control when we met. She had been taught just say no. But a ride home from a babysitting job ended up with her ployer forcing himself on her so that when we married, she had a 3 year old in tow. Need I tell you how many of my female classmates didn't graduate because they were in forced marriages or single mothers. But then, I remember my freshman health class, and the only birth control method they taught was "just day no". They were 4 years to late to tell me that. In fact, during o e of the classes, a girl in our year came in to withdraw because she hadn't got that message. We'd already lost another girl earlier in the hear for the same reason.
Just say no may have worked for YOU, and it works for others, but it doesn't work for everybody.
