I NEVER agree with Bob Parker on ANYTHING.

But good luck with that.

I'm just being stereotypically vegan. Obviously can't force anything. ;-p

Your words.

Also mine, yes, basically nobody else is quite that obsessed.

Obsessed with fighting a massive injustice, guilty as charged! ;-p

Eating animals isn't an injustice. We're omnivores!

Idgaf if we are omnivores or not. We don't need to consume animals to be healthy and killing 6 million animals an hour is, as I said, a massive injustice.

It's not injustice when they aren't wasted. Well...they get "wasted", but only in the slang sense. :-)

Animals are like redheads...devoid of a soul.

I can't wait till I have enough points to reply with memes xD
We are animals, duh ;)
All you have to do is put yourself in their position and it's easy to recognize the injustice:)

I've been replying in memes, twice before now! And you just self defined anthropomorphism.

Can't reply with memes till you have 1000 points :-/
You can call it anthromorphism, I'll call it the golden rule. You know, do onto others as you'd have done unto you :)

Not out for animal cruelty, but I don't anthropomorphize them to the point that they'd change my diet. We're omnivores.

You don't have to anthropomorphize an animal to not want to slit its throat. We can thrive on a plant based diet.

Maybe you can. I'd starve within a week for want of a source of protein that doesn't taste godawful.
reply

You really wouldn't tho. People consume too much protein. It's seriously a non issue.

... Do you want me to send you the spreadsheets after I discovered I wasn't even taking in 40g of protein a day and had to figure out a way to fix that? Or do you want to take my word for it, since you don't really know what works for each individual?
reply

40 grams is quite low. Are you trying to tell me the only way to consume more than 40 grams a day is by consuming animal products?
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
Yes! Chicken tits, tuna, some more fish here and there, and EVEN THEN I need to start and end the day with a protein bar just to get what I need.

I tried to get onto Greek yogurt, I hated it. I tried to get onto cottage cheese and it was awful. I've never liked synthetic meat from tofu or soy beans or whatever they use. I need to form some new habits here, so please, somebody, ANYBODY, kill a chicken and have the fillets driven into Chicago - anyone gives you jib for meat is murder can argue with me, I'll take responsibility.

How many grams are "what you need?"
reply

I target 160g, typically I'm realistically managing 140-150g a day now. There's some research to suggest I only need 100g, but I'd rather go too far and be safe than to go not far enough and fall deficient again. The great thing about protein is that you can't really have too much of it - your body just pees out what you don't need, the only thing negatively affected is your wallet.

Won't let me reply below. There is no way to do it nicely, can you not understand that? It's ironic that you must still consume protein supplements even tho you eat meat. But I guess you're convinced yourself that this is the only way so I'll leave you to it.

That's all I really ask. I respect that you've found a way to take yourself out of the market demand, but veganism is something that only a small fraction of people are ever going to embrace.

I was eating about 140-160 before I was vegan. Now I probably hit 80-100. Stronger and same weight. No struggles with protein just sayin!

I'm not trying to stay the same weight, though, am I?

Oh wait, you didn't know that about me, did you? Yeah, no, my diet is carefully tailored to what I need. And it needs meat. So I need someone to kill some animals for me.

Do it nicely! Don't do it cruelly! But that's a government oversight and regulation problem, not something to quit eating meat over - otherwise I'll always be a scrawny chap with a metabolism that can't keep up with the physical demands of my lifestyle.
