People are dead.

People are dead because of themselves. They knowing went into an abandoned warehouse (They were trespassing) converted into living quarters (illegally) they packed it full of combustible furniture and other items. Not to mention they were throwing mounds of trash outside the building (littering). If they used their common sense they would have never walked onto that property (and the first step on to that property they were breaking the law). All of them present that night contributed to their demise. They essentially committed suicide. They knew everything they did the second they were on that property was illegal, they took their chances, they lost. Ignorance is no excuse.

You're absolutely right, there is no excuse,
Because
they
did
not
commit
suicide.

So trying to justify their deaths because the building owner looked the other way and didn't have the building up to code specifications is exactly, as you so astutely stated, no excuse.

By the way, not only did the mayor say that building owner is responsible, but the city as well, whose inspectors failed to have these people evicted and have the owner make the building comply with building codes.

And for that, there ain't a damned excuse.

Was this an alternative lifestyle party place and the PC police let it slide so as to avoid attack?

Yeah, that's right, that's what it was.

Go cry to someone else. I love how you make excuses that take any responsibility away from these people for their actions. You're quite amusing. It's obvious that you like this, if this so repulsed you, you wouldn't waste your time on it, but yet you do? Those people were just minding their own business, they weren't doing anything whatsoever wrong? That's your answer? Your argument is that it's everyone's else's fault but theirs? What else you got, let's hear it?
2 ups, 7y
By the way, I did not excuse them for their actions. I merely pointed out that they were dead, and that it was not suicide. Stupidity, carelessness, yes, but not suicide.
No more than you deserved such or intended to do when you once did the exact same thing.

PS: I never have, nor ever will, party up in an abandoned warehouse.

Nor a steel mill.

I got this:

"Yea, I grew up in Pittsburgh, in the late 70's into the 80's they were shutting down the steel mills. There was 60 miles of mills, back to back on the Ohio River starting from the south side of the city going down towards Ohio. We had no problem finding a place to party!"

So go kill yourself, hippie.

Sorry about that, that was rude.
I just meant to draw a comparison between him and them.

My apologies, Evilmandoevil, that was wrong of me.
And hypocritical.

You're totally cool with me, we all let our emotions get the better of us now and then. I went to Iraq, twice, so I get a little squirrelly and belligerent here and there! There's no hard feelings at all with me. I actually like your chutzpah, just say what you think, I respect that a lot! :)

Sorry, didn't mean to harsh your mood and all.
Sometimes I'm way too blunt for my own good.

I appreciate you serving our country, you've done more than most of us can ever think we can,,,

I'm on this forum from another site a lot, AltScene, and being vicious and inappropriate is sadly the norm (was actually way worse a couple of years ago before I joined), so sometimes when I pop on here, I'm in that mode,,,
My memes till a couple of weeks ago were made for there, hence the confrontational tone they tend to have.
I even taken to looking at people's other memes here first before commenting, because I don't wanna get in these endless arguments like what happen there (or here sometimes as well). It gets pointless after awhile,,,

It certainly does, to the point it has created it's own backlash. A lot of users are fed up with the lack of civility, so I'm doing what I can to help keep it civil and fun here. It's a meme site so we should all be signing off laughing!

Let the rest of the internet and comment sections be vicious, let imgflip stay funny and civil. Most people stick around here for the community, but when the community starts turning on itself it can drive others to leave or visit less frequently.

Nothing wrong with a disagreement or a good debate, but unfortunately the memes were that would naturally occur are the worst at being civil to those with opposing views. Hopefully with the election over, some of the hostility goes down, but there are those of us who are actively pushing for civility.

I just started getting active posting on other memes in the last couple of weeks, and after a week I've tried to avoid the more political ones. I almost didn't post on this one. This meme is funny abd well made, except the deaths bothered me.
I posted more here yesterday, then deleted it, because I didn't want to get mired in a ruckus.

If you see any of my comments now, they're usually on the more light hearted memes.

Except for jihadi apologists, those I have a hard time ignoring.

The lyrics of the song tell a true story: on 4 December 1971 Deep Purple were in Montreux, Switzerland, where they had set up camp to record an album using a mobile recording studio (rented from the Rolling Stones and known as the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio—referred to as the "Rolling truck Stones thing" and "a mobile" in the song lyrics) at the entertainment complex that was part of the Montreux Casino (referred to as "the gambling house" in the song lyric). On the eve of the recording session, a Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention concert was held in the casino's theatre. This was to be the theatre's final concert before the casino complex closed down for its annual winter renovations, which would allow Deep Purple to record there. At the beginning of Don Preston's synthesizer solo on "King Kong", the place suddenly caught fire when somebody in the audience fired a flare gun toward the rattan covered ceiling, as mentioned in the "some stupid with a flare gun" line.[9][10] Although there were no major injuries, the resulting fire destroyed the entire casino complex, along with all the Mothers' equipment. The "smoke on the water" that became the title of the song (credited to bass guitarist Roger Glover, who related how the title occurred to him when he suddenly woke from a dream a few days later) referred to the smoke from the fire spreading over Lake Geneva from the burning casino as the members of Deep Purple watched the fire from their hotel. "It was probably the biggest fire I'd ever seen up to that point and probably ever seen in my life" said Glover, "It was a huge building. I remember there was very little panic getting out, because it didn't seem like much of a fire at first. But, when it caught, it went up like a fireworks display". The "Funky Claude" running in and out is referring to Claude Nobs, the director of the Montreux Jazz Festival who helped some of the audience escape the fire.

When I was a young Modda, a friend across the street was talking about how his older brother was listening to this great song, "Smokusmola."
Yeah, it took a couple of years till we found out it was "Smoke On The Water"
haha

I can understand how my meme upset you, and it was probably cold hearted on my part. I've seen more death than I care to say, I've seen my men killed in front of me , I was an officer leading a lot of men. We killed a lot of people (Insurgents mostly). There's comfort in knowing that they were the "Enemy", but there's none in seeing your own men killed infront of you, especially when you were the one who ordered them forward. It numbs you, death means nothing, doesn't evoke any emotions in me whatsoever. All I think is "Better them than me!" Anyway, after chilling for a day or so, I ran into this article about the warehouse, it was worst than I thought, I'd like you to check it out, one of the tenants they describes the atmosphere and has pictures of it..

Gosh, reading that, it's hard to imagine why or how anyone lived there. Worse than the apartment I used to have.
I saw that Alselmo whatever owner guy on TV, real slimebag. You can see it in the pics. Married, no less, and living there with wife & kids as well,,,

I get callous about some folks dying too sometimes, depending on what part of the world they live in, or what they are doing, like in the Middle East, for example. With all the people in the world, compassion hits its limits, so I understand,,,
