This is my point. The Democratic Party is the best hope blue collar workers have to protect what they have left of what they earned from the Depression forward. My fellow Democrats take them for granted, or worse.

The Democratic Party, to the American working class, is dead. They've turned their backs on us so now the working class has turned their backs on them. Bernie was the last hope for the party, but he was thrown under the bus, along with the working class. I'm curious to see how many people have left the party since Hillary got the nomination. I know I did. Of the 27% of the voters that are registered Democrats, no more than 25% voted for Hillary. I doubt even that, as she probably picked up some independent and GOP votes along the way. The GOP had 23% of the registered voters, yet Trump exceeded that, easily.

I've cut my ties with the Democrats. We need a party that is truly progressive, not a moderate subsidiary of the GOP.

I have been a registered Democrat for 45-years. Bernie Sanders has never been a Democrat. I have raised more money for other Democrats than Sanders has. He has attacked my party on many occassions and his staff accessed Hillary Clinton's files 25 times when they were given free access to the DNC computer. He has shown no ability to lead anyone but like minded people. A Gallup Poll of potential voters (both parties) showed that 80% said they would vote "against," against a socialist. Had he been the nominee, I would have voted for him. If he takes over the party, I will be among the millions who will re-register Independent. It has nothing to do with progressiveness, and everything to do with character. He is a sexist pig, who forgave Castro's murder of thousands of political prisoners because he was a fellow socialist. The Democratic Party needs to remain true to its liberal roots to survive. Hillary won a record number of votes. We need to build on that, not subtract more moderates.

Sorry, Larry, but the Democratic party is NOT liberal. They started moving away from being liberal when Nixon was in office. Look at what they've allowed this country to become.

Bernie a socialist? That man holds more "Democratic ideals" in his heart than the entire DNC combined. If he's a socialist. Then so was FDR, so was JFK, and so was LBJ. The "party of the working class" has shown just how faithful they are to those ideals as they've allowed the working class to be thrown under the bus for the last four decades. They sat idly by as unions were busted right and left. They watched as the working class lost the value of their labor, as productivity increased, wages stagnated. Are you one of those that nekebe trickle down works? If giving tax breaks to millionaires and large corporations created jobs, there would never be a recession. Never be double digit unemployment.

No, Bernie won't be able to take over the party. He gave them their one shot at redemption and they threw it away. Look at the DNC platform. Team Hillary fought against any progressive measure on there, but notice that she held tightly to fracking (although turning the US to 100% renewable energy by 2020 would have eliminated that need) and the support for the TPP. Bernie can have that wtetched, corrupt organization if be wants. It's time for a REAL party to stand up for the working class.

It' so difficult feeling left out,,,

That is the point I try to make every day with my fellow Democrats.
