My first photoshop attempt...special thanks to Photoshop master "Jying" for giving me pointers!

i've tried switching up to gimp a couple times but always end up back with paint.net! i used to teach graphics and tried every online tool available then eventually found paint.net and stuck with that. tons of free effects packages available and easy as pie to install. lots of good youtube vids available too, but whatever you end up using, the big trick is to learn about the layers first.

That's what Jying told me as well...it took me a minute to figure it out but I'm slowly getting the hang of it...soon I will start messing around with some of the other editing tools. I made a Brian Williams one but it hasn't featured yet.

Cartoons are easy as f**k to photoshop. Hard to do live though.

How do you get the crisp and crunchy cutout?

I do my photoshopping at freephototool.com. And that my friend was about 30 minutes of very careful use of the "eraser" tool...if you haven't been to this site, you should check it out...That's only the 3rd real attempt at photoshopping for me...it's that easy. I'll help you in any way I can.

I use Pixlr Editor, which clearly isn't quite as effective as what you're using. I gotta try that website, danks.

Anyone know why he left this time?

Last conversations he was having really bad back problems and not even really able to drive. I once had to have back surgery so know when its that bad you don't want to do anything physically or mentally. I hope he gets well soon!

That's too bad...Don't have any back problems myself...I've always taken good care of that...my knees are the ones that creak the most...LOL

Jying told me about freephototool.com and gave me a few pointers to help get me started...I'm just now starting to dabble with it...kinda messing around with the basics.

I got something from the Microsoft store so I could at least add PNGs to photos. Someone else (fellraps?) told me about paint.net, but I haven't used that one yet.

I've heard mention of something called gimp as well, but I haven't gotten around to trying that one yet...DashHopes told me about Lunapic...that's where I made that upvote cube and the upvote flower.

gimp can be pretty heavy if you're not used to working in a photoshoppy type environment. "paint.net" is a free program developed by MS as an upgrade for Paint, but they never released it. it's by far the easiest to use
