They believed that the average person was far too stupid to vote wisely,
So as a compromise instead of only landed male gentry being allowed to vote as some wanted,
They came up with the Electoral College to decide whether or not the votes of the the masses of morons should count or not.

So let's hope that come December 19th, they do as they were intended and rectify this stupid quagmire of a clown show that those who thought cheney/bush wasn't setting the bar low enough got us into,,,
