Mainstream media is about powerfull media moguls pushing their own candidates and agendas... news in the 2000's will just become more difficult to ascertain the truth from all of the disinformation and lies.
The media moguls are going the way of the robber barons from 100 years ago. In the 90s, sure, the big 3 networks and CNN ruled the world and Rush Limbaugh was the radical fringe opposition. It's a different world today. Anyone with an Internet connection and a blog can become a big name media source overnight. Bye-bye, moguls... your reign is over. The whole concept of "mainstream media" has been all but erased, viewership declines year after year and no signs of that changing.
IT'S 2016, NOT 1996. CABLE AND SATELLITE TV HAVE BROUGHT US DOZENS OF NEWS, INFORMATION AND COMMENTARY CHANNELS AND SHOWS WITH A DIVERSITY OF VIEWS NEVER SEEN BEFORE. MEANWHILE THE INTERNET OFFERS THOUSANDS OF NEWS SITES AND BLOGS SPANNING THE WHOLE POLITICAL SPECTRUM, FROM MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TO THE CRAZIEST FRINGE VIEWS; SO WOULD YOU MIND EXPLAINING HOW THE PHRASE "MAINSTREAM MEDIA" MEANS ANYTHING AT ALL THESE DAYS? DOES SUCH A THING EVEN EXIST ANYMORE?
