I love it, whenever does a fire related meme because it means I could use this meme to comment with.

So that when I want to use one of my templates for a really good idea I won't have to wait for a custom dump. If it's in the public directory and you use it in a submission, then the next time you go to use it, it'll post just as quickly as if you used BLB or X All The Y.

Isn't that abusing the system? :o

No, because I there's still others like the flag one I have run through custom dumps. Ones I use frequently in my comments though I want to be able to use for actual memes too. It's not like they get a free pass either, most of my initial custom posts get between 10-15 upvotes, not sure if more than 5 have over 20.

Plus, then anyone can also use them since they're in the public directory and bypass the custom dumps. That's the only way my "Suck It ISIS" and Vader Child Support memes were able to get to the front page...because I'd already burned a submission on them in the past.

Another way to look at it, is if you follow the tag "My Template Challenge" I've put all those templates out there for everyone to use with no wait time (plus 1-3 others I forgot to tag appropriately).

When you search some templates (like Deadpool) the same image is out there 4 or 5 times (I'm guilty of contributing to that in a few cases). If you click into one of them and they have no featured memes it's treated like a custom template and will only post in the custom dumps. But if you do a search and find one that has a featured meme, it too will post right away.

Give me long enough with anything and I'll figure out where exactly something breaks down, or how to find a way to lessen the impact. Other than how fellow memers will vote there's actually very little randomness to the site.

Because as far as I know with Demotivationals you have to "upload" the photo every time, so it wouldn't recognize it as an established picture. Yours is showing created "5 hours ago" and it looks like the last custom dump memes were created "6 hours ago", so it looks like you just missed the cutoff point, it should feature with the next set of customs...but who knows when that is on a Friday night.
