Oh come on, I sure you have a suit somewhere in your house. I think mine is a blazer from my High School Prom, but other than that I'm in the same boat as you are Lapsed_Jedi.

I've got one. It's just that even a bespoke suit from Savile Row would still look bad on me :)

Unless we're talking actual historical deaths that really happened, of course. But inferring from the picture, I'd be worried for the son.

I don't care what anyone says - I think the opening scene of Indiana Jones IV is one of the best opening action scenes ever.

At least they took dummies ... the russians put pigs, dogs, birds and other animals into cages and left them in the different distances from ground zero in order to analyse the different types of wounds

I'd like to know how far away the blast was. Seriously, there was literally nothing left of the people but their shadows on the concrete when the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, yet these two dummies still have clothes on. Hmmm...Something doesn't add up. I'd be interested in reading the report on this. Of course, it's probably classified or, at least, heavily redacted.

It all depended on the yield of the bomb. The original tests were done with very low yield devices that were more poof than boom. As the testing progressed and the yields increased, so did the damage. Some of the early tests were so weak that even at a mile they were hardly noticeable.
