The space that separates a performer or performance from an audience. For example, with this gif, Ferris Bueller is well aware that he is in a movie and gazes at the camera man filming him and the Pokémon image I included is also another one. It's a very cool feature to have if you want the performance to go super meta, but can be a little overkill if used to often! ;)
