About the only thing I love about living in a small town is not having to deal with rush hour traffic anymore.

I served at NAS Miramar during Desert Storm.

I loved Miramar, both while is was NAS and after it became a MCAS.

I was in 29 Palms (a craphole) and my kids had to go to Balboa a lot for Dr appointments, so we would stay at the TLF at Miramar. It was cheaper than hotels and a nice base.

There is a stretch of freeway in San Diego ( state route 78 and interstate 15) that is jammed every single day (even Saturday's and Sunday's) from 5 am to 9 pm.

Evidently, you haven't been to the small towns of Eastern Long Island or Upstate New York.

I've never been to the East Coast...would like to someday.

The east coast is great and if you plan on going, I would go during hurricane season because they are fun, especially when the power goes out for 3-4weeks at a time.

It was even better when the weather started shifting and it snows close to the summer. (Snow is my favorite precipitation)
