Of course, these are generalizations. Gangsta rap, I have yet to come across one I like. Hip hop, OTOH, I don't mind. One song that is considered rap, is Shahgy's Angel. The chorus is very similar to the 1967 song Angel Of The Morning, and I've set it as my alarm ringtone.

Overall, I like most genres of music. But pick a song I like, and I'll sample other artists.

I'm not a big music person. My all time favorite song is Angel Eyes. Lol. And any Stevie or Fleetwood.., but I love Biggie as well

I grew up back when they had good cartoons on TV, and, to save a buck, animation studios used public domain music. I ended up listening to classical music without knowing it.

My late brother was a bar DJ in eastern Ohio, and he knew his business well. I learned some things from the kid.

I can listen to Jazz, the blues, big band era, or heavy metal within an hour. My fave song is Pacobel's Canon. It's the perfect song for people in high stress jobs.

It was the decade of the One Hit Wonders, CDs, MTV, Boom Boxes, Walkmans, Footloose, etc. And I was in high school and college then.

No, Ron Jeremy. Oh, music styles.

Sha Na Na was a cover group singing older songs that were replaced with thecacid rock, psychedelic music of the late sixties that was getting air play. I love the old do wop music from when I was a small tyke, as well as Motown and Phil Specter's "wall of sound".

They played 'At the hop' at Woodstock, and were the backing band in the Grease movie's big dance.

Scteamin' Scott also wrote the song Travolta sang at the drive in. I think it was "Sandy"

They also had a TV series for a few years. Saturday night was the Muppet Show, followed by Sha Na Na in our household.

"We watched it, we just didn't get it." Sorry, old one liner from a local show out of Cleveland.

Right. Total sarcasm on my part. I can't help myself.

I promised myself I'd try to be nice, so I flipped offy sarcasm switch.

We all like the music we grew up with. I consider myself blessed that Mom and Dad had a great selection of music choices to listen to. The only music I'm totally against is the loud, heavy bass people play in their cars and close to my home. The vibration of the bass and speaker rattle would interfere with mybex wife's Internal Cardiac Defibulator. Our neighbor's stereo set it off once. I explained what happened, and he didn't realize it. Butvi tried breaking his door down to shutvit off.

And we should never argue with a Time Lord.

As we grow older, we have less connection or context with what 'the kids' are doing. And to a larger extent, little interest. Every generation feels it, I'd reckon. And we do all like a good reminisce.
