Because we are his spirit children and being born in the worst of circumstances is better than not being born at all. But you're not going to get a complete answer from comments to an image. Try reading the Bible and getting on your knees and asking God himself to help you understand.

I've read the bible. That's what made me an atheist. The OT reads like a horror story; God commanding his people to wage perpetual war, stone people to death for collecting firewood on the sabbath, rape, plunder, and smash babies' heads against rocks. Go ahead and tell me that I'm taking it out of context.
The NT tells contradictory stories about a man/god for whom their is no verifiable contemporary evidence. Try reading David Fitzgerald's "Nailed: Ten Christian Myths That Show Jesus Never Existed at All".
Here's a question for you: if you knew that your neighbor was about to rape, torture and kill a young child, wouldn't you stop him? God knows, God has the ability to stop him but chooses not to. Why is that?

Maybe he wants you to not depend on him and instead of bitching about what he does on the Internet, actually do something about it?

I'd be more curious to hear what avenues you've already checked out to get an answer (ie, which authors).

Because God uses people to help other people, but only when we let Him. He gave us freewill, and because some people don't use it properly, stuff like this happens, but God doesn't want it to.

Now you need to ask the following questions: does good know EVERYTHING? Everything that ever has happened, everything that is happening, and everything that ever will happen? If so, then God knows every choice you will ever be faced with and every decision you will ever make. Therefore, free will is an illusion. There is no way to reconcile an all knowing god with free will. Either he knows everything we will ever do or he doesn't know EVERYTHING.
So god already knows that countless millions of innocent children will suffer and die. He not only allows it to happen, he causes it to happen. It's all part of his "perfect plan."

That's not true at all. It's not God's plan to allow children to starve, and he most certainly doesn't cause it to happen. It's the evil people like you and I who allow and cause this to happen. God does know it will happen, but it's not His job to interfere. He's putting his creations to the test, to see whether they're worthy to have Eternal life or not. When whoever has caused this to happen dies, He will give him a just punishment.
