I agree. If i'm online and a meme features a topic that usually pisses someone off (e.g. anything political) I won't say anything because I don't have the energy for the onslaught of comments that ignore logic or decency and attack my opinion.

Sometimes I just can't help myself though. Usually I just make a ridiculous off topic comment if I do get sucked into and can't stop myself.

I understand, sometimes it's hard to ignore something so blatantly idiotic and not say something to combat it. But the truly stupid have the advantage of numbers on their side. You can't really calmly debate with them.
