The "Made by" starts counting from when you click Generate, so it doesn't show how much time was spent making it.

But, I did have a time-saving trick. I made the four middle memes first. That way when I added all the images together, I only had to drag text boxes for the top and bottom images. Otherwise it can get confusing!

I don't know how it came out on top of Latest, but that's great!

The time I generated & submitted it was 12:55pm EST, if that helps. There could be specific times that mods review custom images, so maybe the timing was just right?

Had this happen couple weeks ago! And during the week, 2:00 pm est is usually when you see the barrage of customs featured.

It makes sense that submitting a meme about an hour or so before a batch of custom releases would end up placing well. That would give the mods enough time to review it, but it's closely enough timed so that it doesn't come out near the bottom with the memes generated 6-7 hours or more previously. :)
