I saw a horror movie when I was a kid where there was a large mirror in a castle that reflected a wide staircase behind. When the damsel in distress looked in the mirror she saw a man slowly walking down the stairs, but when she looked behind her no-one was there. I looked behind me in the bathroom a few times after that. :)
