SO WHAT if a joke is posted a second, third or fourth time on IMGFLIP! Good jokes are MEANT to be repeated, rant over....

I think for the most part, people who complain about reposts aren't sincere. They don't actually see any problem with reposting. Most of them have no problem doing that themselves.

I think they're just frustrated/envious that the meme in question is doing better than theirs. However, it doesn't sound good to write "I'm jealous that your meme is doing better than mine," so they just write "Repost" (sometimes without even checking whether that's true).

While that is true, the ones that ARE sincere, seem to create an account -get it off their chest- then delete account. Which leads me to believe they could be regular users that don't want to ruin their reputation under their username.

I think you nailed it with the envious comment though. Whenever something is 'kept score' there will always be jealousy. Especially when my song is obviously better than your song. :)

I personally don't care if I hear the same joke over 20 times. Just the right meme and delivery will make me laugh again and again.

Yeah I don't mind seeing an old joke too. Especially if there's a new twist or the person has made it their own in some way. Even a new template can make the joke different sometimes.

And if people don't like a repost, why not just keep scrolling? We all have memes we like and memes we don't for whatever reason - no point writing a complaint on every meme we don't like.

But if another artist decided to play that song as if it were their own that would be different. It's just kinda cheap to re-tell a joke in the same place that you heard it without giving credit. Of couse sometimes you can't know what joke has been told where but sometimes you see the same joke on a different template within just days. That's tacky.

Never been on a yo mama website. I heard that joke on SNL decades ago when they did Dirty Dozens. But notice I said in the same place you heard it. That's my only point. I know there's nothing new under the sun.

But you can't always assume that. Lets say I hear a joke on SNL this past week. You heard the same joke the same night. You have one submission left Saturday night and add it to a meme. I don't see it because I went to bed and it starts moving up the pages. I use the same joke with a different template for my third submission on Sunday and it hits the top of the front page of recent. Meanwhile yours is on the front page by now. Some people will think I'm tacky when in all reality, you were just quicker. I just don't go out and assume people are doing it on purpose. There are just too many people using this site to do that.

I'm Tttony. All the uptight right wingers on this site down vote me to oblivion immediately. They stalk me and make extra accounts just to have more votes against me. So your scenario of me being on the front page just doesn't fly. And to tell the truth I'm not as emotionally invested in this topic as you seem to be. Therefore; fine. You're right and I'm wrong. I'm not discussing right or wrong. The intention of my meme was simple. If a joke is funny, isn't it worth repeating? But I agree with you if someone does it intentionally to another IMGFLIPPER it comes off as tacky. But if it happens to me, I'm a grown man with big shoulders and will submit 3 more memes tomorrow.
