I suggest that a user must reach X amount of points to be able to DV, like 10 thousand. Anyone agree?

I think 50,000 points would be a good number. It makes no sense for someone to start an account and be able to troll others. If a person is here to make memes and have fun they will reach 50,000 without much trouble. I HATE DOWNVOTING. I only use it when someone is completely out of line or spamming my memes. Just don't see the point in it.

You weren't here when the upvote/downvote BAR was a thing. They ended up getting rid of it sometime in December to try and curb the trolling, but like all parasites they find ways to get around it.

That's a good number. I think the DV button is pointless too. If I see a meme I don't like, I just move on and don't upvote it. I have downvoted some pro-hillary memes (not beckett's because he's cool) and I DV trolls, but I go on to imgflip to have fun, not to DV people. I'd rather see downvotes be removed altogether, but I think if only established users had that ability then that would solve most problems here.

I would say even higher, and maybe even a daily limit on top of that. Personally I'm not worried about my ranking, I have done everything I set as a goal for myself on the site and just want to make people laugh or think now. I can't really think of a day in the last year where I was inclined to downvote more than 5 or 6 things including comments so 10 would seem like a good number to me but perhaps a bit arbitrary.

Yep, not the 1st one he attacked last week either. When I still thought he was a new user after attacking Ghost he asked for my opinion. I said we don't do that around here. Hence I've "done nothing but treat him like shit." this from the guy who spent 3 days cussing at me and calling on me to come to him for a fistfight, lol!

Plus he's making nothing but passive aggressive memes complaining about the site AND his name is obi wan kenobi backwards. Check out his first couple memes playing his little routine of trying to get sympathy.

If you are talking about that gif, I haven't been there to downvote it. But if I am needing to start going there to do things like that, I will. I haven't been trying to start anything like people keep trying to claim. I would just like to be able to meme and say what is on my mind without having people try to say I am a troll or that I am just another alt of the biggest troll that there ever has been here. Doesn't seem fair to me to try to classify me as him when I really haven't done anything.

Yeah, I've only downvoted a couple times. Beckett is the only liberal that I've noticed on here that makes good memes on a regular basis. There might be others but they're rare..

You can tell with comments if your comment is lower on a thread than one with less upvotes. With memes, you can tell based on the way your meme moves up through hottest. Like if your meme seems to hit a wall and gets passed by memes with less upvotes even though it's getting upvoted, that means you're getting downvoted.
