You may be glad you have it sometime if you or someone in your home needs to make a 911 call but cannot speak because of an intruder or something along the lines of a stroke. Cellphone 911 calls do not pull up an address, they are triangulated. Your landline provides your exact location. There are a few other reasons, but that by far is the biggest. My guess is your package is cheaper PRETAX, that's usually how its pitched. If you still want to cancel, get a quote on the packages AFTER the roughly 20.00 in taxes and govt fees are added.
