I was just thinking the same thing this week, the retail cycle starts their seasonal sales and promotions earlier and earlier. I was at a Dairy Queen that had pumpkin flavored Blizzards and the mall had an entire Halloween store and it was only August.
As soon as the back-to-school sales came down they put this stuff up, and you're right, Christmas stuff will overlap Halloween.
