Usually, if I just type keywords from the text I intend to use, it shows up within the first 2 lines of Google Images, if it's already been done. And even then, if it's something I think may have been done before, I'll mention it in the title.

Nothing wrong with SHARING, as long as credit is given to the originator.
Nothing wrong with RESUBMITTING, since it was yours originally.
REPOSTING, at least, to me, means redoing someone else's meme and either claiming credit for it or not crediting the originator so that people think you made it yourself. It's the little brother of plagiarism.

i had to laugh when i was accused of reposting once. 2 other of the "original designers" chimed in saying it was no issue and that there were differences etc between mine and their older images. it was a good giggle

In other words, they were reposters trying to justify their actions by telling you there's nothing wrong with it and everybody's doing it.

I did a Google Image search once on a meme idea I had, and saw that, not only had it been done before, but there were literally dozens of different backgrounds with the exact same words. Whoever had come up with that one first will never be able to get the credit they deserve because of all the numerous reposters. I was sickened by that.

But then I thought, hey, gears grinded hokeewolf now just keep looking forward. Imitation is the best form of flattery as they say! Not like "I" made that joke up either. :)

Actually, since you aren't making money off of it or using it to further your business, it isn't against the law to repost anything. It also doesn't really matter whether a meme is a repost or not, since that's what meming is all about, sharing memes you find hilarious. If you know who created the original meme, yes, give credit, but if you saw it on Google images and have no idea who created the original, you have no obligation to say anything.

And I have seen this meme as well before, but you made no mention of who created it.
