What does it mean by featured? Is it like in page 100 or something?

When you submit something it has to be viewed by the mods before it gets featured. Sometimes they go through really fast, using the popular templates like this one helps with that. Sometimes they get stuck in submission which happens more often if you load an "original" template. If they are obscene or there is something the mods don't like on them they won't make it out of submitted to featured. Once a meme is featured it is put on the latest pages. This one featured on page 2 of the latest pages which is a good spot to get, usually the longer they take to feature the further back in the latest pages they are placed. The latest pages update ever hour and your meme will keep getting pushed further back. If it does good it will then be placed on the "Hot" pages. This is determined by how many views, upvotes, and comments your meme receives. It also matters how fast you receive them. Basically the more attention it gets and how fast it gets it determines where it will end up.

That's cool that you think that way, some people complain and always think their memes should get a good spot. This site has gained a lot of popularity in the past year and it does take longer than it used to. I think that's a good thing though, it means the site is doing well and we all should want that so it sticks around. It can be frustrating at times when your meme takes over 10 hours. But you can always share the link with your friends if you really want people to see it before it features. I like to photo edit a lot so mine usually take a while, but I can't blame them. If it were my website I'd want to make sure somebody didn't edit something obscene into a pic before I put my site logo on it and posted it.

Agreed, some people just fail to see it from the that view, they just take too many things for granted. Plus, sometimes it's fun to see a few original memes in the site, as it'll just be TV in the 1800's Plain and boring.

You are exactly right, I make a lot of original stuff I know isn't going to have mass appeal and go "viral." But I know my friends on here that share my sense of humor will enjoy them and that's enough for me. You make a very good point, it would be very boring without some of the off the wall incredibly creative memes I see people make here every day. That's why I do my best to go through the latest pages and meet new users. I'm always hoping to see something new from a different point of view. Luckily there is a lot of that going on around here :)

To be honest, some people are most probably about the upvotes and points. They fail to see that the real reason behind this site is to make everyone's day by putting a simple smile on their faces :)

It happens, I've had my share of hate from people because I've got points. It doesn't bother me though because I know that's not why I'm here and that's enough for me. The thing is, the best way to get points is by having fun. If you are going around laughing at memes, then make comments on them hoping people will get a laugh back, the points will just start adding up. Some people think of it as a competition and I suppose the point system can make it seem that way. If you look at it like that though odds are you aren't going to have much fun. It does feel nice to get upvotes but I've always said, if I make a meme and it makes one person laugh it was worth making. Luckily most of the people on this site feel the same way, there really aren't that many negative comments compared to most sites out there. I think you have to try a lot harder not to be liked around here than to make friends. You'll see, this is a very good place to come when you need a laugh ;)

That's cool, I'd say you are off to a great start, I've got to get around and see if my buddies have anything new featured yet. It's a bit early still but things usually start picking up around now. First things first though I believe my coffee pot finally stopped grumbling and I need a cup!!

Go to your profile page, there will be a blue edit profile link. Click on that and you will see the box next to the word tagline that is just like one of these comment boxes and type what you want ;)

When I tapped on the box, my keyboard didn't show up. I think I'll have to use a computer :/

Upvotes should not be seen as like, you want it cause you get points. Rather, they should be seen as a form of encouragement to the created of this meme.

I've never tried it on my phone that might be it I'm not sure. And that is a very good way to look at upvotes I wish more people had that opinion but it isn't a big deal to enough of the people on here that the people who have issues with it are definitely in the minority. ;)
