My opinion of Trump? I can only base how well he would run the country on his business experience. His business experience? Four bankruptcies is a good start. A good business does NOT need to file bankruptcy for his business: he makes his business profitable and pays his bills.
Second, the art of the deal. Renegotiate the deal after you make it. What deal would he renegotiate? Outstanding loans? Sure, China would love that. Imagine him trying to renegotiate the terms on a loan to the nation's biggest note holder. That's us. Everyone that has paid into the Social Security Trust Fund. I am on disability and cannot afford to have that cut.
I've seen how "Successful businessmen" run government. I lived in Phoenix, Arizona when J. Fyfe Simington was elected. I left the state before he resigned in disgrace. The family has been involved in politics for generations, as well as business ventures. Fyfe was a real Estate developer that, like Trump, filed bankruptcy because he mismanaged his businesses. He didn't do Arizona any favors trying to run the state like a business. No, he wasn't impeached, like Meacham was, but had he not designed when he did, it would have been a sure bet he would have. And from his own Party.
No, I don't trust Trump to do right by running the country like he has run his businesses.
And forca very good reason: it is not a business. A business produces a product or service and turns a profit. Government us a non profit. Totally different mind set. We need someone that understands government and can get things done.
I take my chances with my third party candidate.
