Lol that only works for super models. I know some guys would stop to help a lady no matter the size but the girl in your meme would have them fighting to fix her flat lol

I've tried teaching her several things, but turns out she manipulated me into doing things for her. And it's her father (my uncle) that taught me alot, and he warned me, but noooooo. So good on you, the basics are important.

I was changing my own oil when I started driving. If we couldn't service the basics we weren't allowed to drive. Dad would always help and supervise but never "do it all for us" It drives my husband crazy now though, My Trail Blazer was whining last week and I told him there was a bearing going bad in the alternator. He insisted it was the power steering pump instead. Long story short we replaced the alternator last night and NO MORE whining. I can also shoot and skin a deer LOL I guess that's the beauty of being raised country.

I WISH my wife was like that. When the car shifts down going uphill she thinks the drive components are going out.

We had a friend in high school who called her dad and said and I quote...."dad come get me my car is torn up" dad says what's wrong with it? Her reply "I don't know daddy it just came unstarted." LOL

That's awesome, you got a sister? Ha ha. I don't know what happened to my cousin and her sister, they both grew up in the country, all they can do is sorta garden, and they both married millenial hipsters. Great guys but city boys, they cant do shit. They like to come out and help and learn, but can only swing a hammer with both hands. I do not let them touch a saw yet, and teaching them to drill stuff. It's kinda funny to watch these two, but embarassing at the same time. I am 2500kms from home right now and I'm having a problem with my front breaks, my parents have NO tools, so I may havta actually go to a mechanic, and I know nobody around here. Thats gonna suck, my uncle and I would have it torn apart, diagnosed, parts ordered by 9, delivered at 2, driving by 3ish, all while holding a beer, and making fun of eachother.

I have 2 sisters actually they are twins and 5 years older than me. Both are married with children though LOL. Hope you got your brakes fixed! That sucks that you are going to have to pay someone. I was telling my 15 year old last night that he needed to learn some basic car skills, he has no interest whatsoever. Even after I explained that we saved about $350-400 doing the alternator repair ourselves, he is in for a rude awakening when it's time to budget his own money..

Yeah. It's not like the olden days when we can buy shit boxes for $300-$400 and run 'em into the ground and on to the next one. Breaks not done yet, I'm pretty stationary here for another 2 weeks, prolly next week when it slows down for me. But I'll be drivin thru the mountains after that ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! f**k those hills are loooooong. Yee-haw!
