Even if just 1% of planets around 1% of stars in 1% of the galaxies are capable of providing environments where life is possible, that's millions of opportunities.
Hearing and reading of 85% possibility is like dropping a rock into an empty well. After each rain, the hope is there; the rock says 100% each time. No.
The planets say NO. The planets saying 'No' like the rock, does not mean maybe.
I love science fiction, had lots of science in college, but I think it's a fantasy to think there are alien civilizations & close to speed of light or faster. I think we're it, but could be wrong

The math says it's entirely possible:

Maybe, but the planets are saying NO. The rocks thrown down this well sends back the echoes, over and over:No Water.:)

How many million have you checked thus far? If I'm not mistaken there was a Super Earth found within the five years that essentially had a planet wide ocean...very similar to the one that was the birth place of a clone army.
With all the planets orbiting all the stars in all the galaxies in the universe -- the belief that this is the only one inhabited by life takes a lot more faith than the most devout Saint has in God.
Who/what are you quoting? ....than the most devout Saint.
You, my weird, Memo, will be struck by lightening on your Birthday while mixing the elixer for the " cure for cancer" before you get a blip on that bizarre radar you invented.
