I pretty much only do original images or altered meme templates and have spoken out about it for ages. It will be something you'll have to get used to. My best advice is to submit in the morning hours. Even if I made it the night before, I remake it the next morning and submit right away, that seems to help with the placement when released. Those are my best tips, good luck.
