It's like those times, when people use commas, where they shouldn't.

You, mean, you're, not, supposed, to, use, them, after, every, word,?

You, can, if, you, want. It, just, isn't, grammatically, correct.

The problem is it's usually a mistype, or if you're using a phone like me it's autocorrect.

If I didn't consistently see people typing "then" when they mean "than" and "than" when they mean "then", I might almost believe that.
