Pure Genius. If someone had explained it that way, I would have immediately known that I wouldn't have a prayer of ever understanding, so I wouldn't waste time trying

I actually found basic math (in Grades K-6) to be much harder than Algebra

I really liked math until I got to calculus. I don't deal well with abstracts.

I took Calc I last semester, got a C+ in it. My cousin has an engineering degree from University of Colorado, Boulder, and he said that he hardly uses any Calculus in his job.

It's the only class I ever failed. Our chemists used it occasionally, but I made sure that I was never involved in those projects.

Algebra anagramed is A+B=large

Sadly, this is true at many Colleges and Universities in America (especially at UC Berkeley), many of these professors care about research and try to weed out the weaker students with insanely hard tests.

It was that way even when I was in college, back in the stone age. )

Absolutely true. If you don't know that something is considered impossible, you are more likely to try. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail, sometimes you die. :)
