Pure Genius. If someone had explained it that way, I would have immediately known that I wouldn't have a prayer of ever understanding, so I wouldn't waste time trying
Sadly, this is true at many Colleges and Universities in America (especially at UC Berkeley), many of these professors care about research and try to weed out the weaker students with insanely hard tests.
I really liked math until I got to calculus. I don't deal well with abstracts.

I took Calc I last semester, got a C+ in it. My cousin has an engineering degree from University of Colorado, Boulder, and he said that he hardly uses any Calculus in his job.
Absolutely true. If you don't know that something is considered impossible, you are more likely to try. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail, sometimes you die. :)
