Actually you can explain that. We create wars, harm the planet and kill each other almost all the time for no reason. Animals don't do that kind of thing.
reply
4 ups, 1 reply
You just proved my point. We launch wars, contribute to destroying the ecosystem, and have one of, if not the highest murder rate among animals and people go "Eh" and walk away. One animal gets shot and everyone loses their minds. If you diverted that attention towards goals like the ones you mentioned, there's a better world right there.

Interestingly, every single person who has ever been pro-abortion (I don't call it pro-choice) has already been born.

Just as interesting is we will never know the opinion on this subject from those that have been aborted.

But we do know the opinion of those who could have been aborted but their parents chose not to abort...

I think you missed what I was doing there. Xenusian made an obvious statement about being able to know the opinion of those who weren't aborted but are pro-choice, so I made another obvious statement that we will never know the opinion of those who were aborted.
reply

"Chose not to abort" would be giving birth. "Choosing to abort" is preventing the birth. Birth just happens (if there's a baby, of course), abortion does not. Thus, people choose "to abort", not "to not abort".

We define human death as the end of a heartbeat and the end of brain activity. Shouldn't "life" be defined as having both a heartbeat and brainwave activity?

Here is a generic copy and paste of why I am pro-life, :-) I am not one to bicker. I like everyone and appreciate all opinions so don't take me wrong & thank you for the comment.
At 4 weeks from conception, a baby's eye, ear, and respiratory systems begin to form.
Thumbsucking has been documented at 7 weeks from conception.
At 8 weeks from conception, a baby's heartbeat can be detected by ultrasonic stethoscope. Some as early as 5 weeks.
By 9 weeks from conception, a baby is able to bend her fingers around an object in her hand. Brainwaves are also visible at 9 weeks.
By 11 to 12 weeks from conception, the baby is breathing fluid steadily and continues to do so until birth.
By 11 weeks from conception, a baby can swallow.
Between 13 and 15 weeks from conception, a baby's taste buds are present and functioning.
At 20 weeks, and perhaps as early as 16 weeks from conception, a baby is capable of hearing his mother's heartbeat and external noises like music.
At 23 weeks from conception, babies have been shown to demonstrate rapid eye movements (REM), which are characteristic of active dream states.
At six months from conception, a baby's oil and sweat glands are functioning.
At seven months from conception, a baby frequently "exercises" in preparation for birth by stretching and kicking.
At eight months from conception, a baby's skin begins to thicken, and swallows a gallon of amniotic fluid each day and often hiccups.
This list could keep going and there are many detail not included. This is just part Of why I am pro-life. I have 3 other reasons at home my children :-)

I have three myself (22, 21, and 16). I'm also pro-life but I don't see the public or media or Democrats giving up on the abortion issue, so I propose the life/death definition as a potential compromise. Besides, most women don't even know they're pregnant until 5 or 6 weeks from conception. I think it would do away with 90% of all abortions if the doctor had to prove no heartbeat and no brain activity.
reply
6 ups, 1 reply
I agree! I actually think requiring an ultrasound would stop a lot even if the doctor didn't have to prove life, as a woman the majority of us fall in love fast, and falling in love with our little peanuts is no different.

By 2013, pundits like Rachel Campos-Duffy were claiming that more than 90 percent of women change their mind about abortion after viewing an ultrasound.

We terminated a pregnancy. Wife was on birth control, still got pregnant. We both were on minimum wage in college, in a 1 bedroom house with limited income. We feared we would not be able to complete school, improve our lives and get in a position to have a baby. It was a week long, intense decision. It was the right decision. We now are in a much better situation, and have a beautiful 4 year old girl. What may have happened if we chose to keep it, nobody knows for sure, but we both felt and still do, that we made the right decision for our future and our family. You want to decrease abortions? Improve the economy. Making it illegal, or restricting it, would just make it worse. Thankfully we didnt have to go through the nonsense laws they have these days, but I will tell you that it wouldnt have changed our mind to see an ultrasound, but it would have caused us completely unnecessary grief. If you think that anyone in their right mind has one without painstakingly going over it, then you are wrong. I respect the right for you to disagree on any of the grounds you have, be it religious etc... but it was my family's choice... NOT YOURS.

Given the description of the situation, I imagine the abortion took place before the three months mark. Before parts could even be harvested.
Furthermore, I consider the "selling of parts" to be, at most, a tangential issue. If an abortion is going to take place anyhow, why not use it for scientific research. We just don't want the pursuit of research to encourage people to choose abortions.

1) Boredmeme hit it right on the nose.
2) If they did, which I doubt, then yes, it does. Maybe it led to a breakthrough in disease research? Maybe its helping to cure cancer? Do you attack those who donate their body to science to?
3) Of course, I am educated about the subject, therefor I know that PP cannot BY LAW and found innocent in the state of Texas of breaking any laws, actually profit by selling them. So IF they did, the answer is always $0, since it would be at a loss due to transportation and storage costs. BUT I GUESS YOU CONVENIENTLY FORGOT OR MISSED THAT PART OF THE EQUATION.

I am not pro-abortion, but I do believe in responsible population control. Mainly I do not think abortion should be a form of birth control, but if any doubts exists about you having a child and a nuclear family... I do wish that women could not make the choice alone or force a man that wanted an abortion to pay for their unwanted child...

Technically they already got screwed, which is how they got into the situation they are in. There are women who choose to get abortions to: hide the fact they got pregnant from their parents, hide the affair they had, because they are too lazy to take care of themselves let alone a baby, and many other asinine reasons that have nothing to do with a condom breaking or health issues.

And as far as I know..humans haven't lost 90% of their habitat or are on the brink of extinction

OK then, how about then we force pro-choice people to adopt, you know, since its such a huge concern of yours.
reply
[deleted]
3 ups, 1 reply
Should be the other way around. If they want to force someone to have a baby they should be forced to adopt an unwanted child.
reply
4 ups, 1 reply
Then why do pro-choice people constantly go on about the unwanted children. What's holding them back if they care so much.

"Force someone to have a baby"

Abstinence, condoms, natural family planning, sterilization. There are 4 methods you have if you don't want a child. When you have sex, you know of the possibility of pregnancy.
reply
[deleted]
3 ups, 1 reply
Pro Choice don't want more children why would they adopt? Your example is ass-backwards and shows your not completely with the program. We mention unwanted children because that is exactly what forced birthing accomplishes. Bottom line. It's none of your business. It will never change, Supreme Court said it's none of you business so you can whine until the cows come home. Stop your whining and adopt a homeless child which YOUR choice may have created.
reply

"Adopt a homeless child your choice may have created"

Lol, abortion is 100% legal. If a woman currently wanted an abortion there's nothing currently preventing her. If you think the child has such a bad life, why don't you adopt it?

"It will never change"

That's funny, Chile banned abortion, who's to saw America won't as well? Slavery was legalized and later illegalized. Who do we have to thank for that? The right-wing.

I always say babies. I know they are considered a fetus until they are born but I lost a "fetus" to a miscarriage and he is still my baby even though I never held him in my arms or heard him cry. My living children were also my babies from the time I conceived them, maybe not scientifically but to me they were. :-)
