Actually, the term "bricks" came from the shape of one of the first phones made my Motorola. The phone (which was handheld, mind you) weighed about 1 kg and was 23 cm long, 13 cm deep, and 4.5 cm wide.

I agree. Smaller phone companies need to make quality products, with more data, more CPU, and overall a better experience, to even get a small audience.

Exactly. I've used the same Nokia Lumia phone for the past three years, it still works better than any iPhone.
