If someone breaks in our house and you have a gun you will raise A LOT the chance sto be injured or killed or have one your relatives injured or killed.
This is what numbers tell us; obviously it's not easy to accept or understand.
It's like sexual assault: everybody imagine the classic illegal creepy guy, often with a different skin colour...
But 80% is the father, uncle, brother, family friend, teacher.

I get what you're saying. But if they take the guns of law abiding citizens, it will be a free for all. Hell, I might even start robbing people just for fun.

There's not a perfect solution, but millenar experience of the european countries in particular teach us that strictly allowing guns ownership can help to control, for example, passional murders.
Do you know in Italy almost ALL the murders of girlfriends, wives, ex wives, are caused by men allowed to carry weapons, like security guards, policemen, soldiers...

The difference between them and the other men? They have a gun in the room.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. But if I wanted to give up my freedoms for the "greater good", I'd move to Russia. So far, my guns have killed zero humans.

Anyways, I'm not trying to troll, or debate. There is no perfect solution, as you said.

FYI, I'm a proud gun owner myself, just for shooting range, but in my country I had to do A LOT of paperworks and tests to have this opportunity.

Strict control doesn't mean comunism, your experience doesn't count on the big numbers... Saldly. :P

It's like the speed limits: i know I could drive perfectly safe even 50
miles over the limits, because I'm a good and serious driver... But.
I can't swear how I could react in a dangerous situation and certainly I can't guarantee for other drivers... :)
