At this point, it's due to the popularity of being the #1 user on imgflip. But if you look at the profiles of any top user, you will see that they all have thousands of comments...that's where it all starts. Lots of funny meme comments on front page memes will get you popular over time...

Oh I think I have a long way to go!!! To be honest i only started making them for facebook posts, but I didn't know this club is so huge! Love to make folks laugh if I can :-) Cheers sweetie x
