You know, I don't know anything about the company itself, but I'd love to have a luncheon with them so we can ask questions and get a few answers. I'd really like to know more about their process and ways of doing things. Being a meme site they have to stay hands-off or at least out of the way and I get that. I dunno, a smidgen more interaction from them would be nice and maybe even more fun.

For anyone who isn't on the leaderboard, making the front page is a miracle sent from the heavens.
I thought the same thing, but I started commenting and stopped thinking about it and within a week I had like 3 on the front page. About a month after that I hit the top 100 and now I am in the top 15. Some weeks I submit my 3 every day and they go nowhere. Other weeks I submit my 3 every day and about 2 out of 3 will make it to at least page 2 sometimes both on front. I wish I could figure out the timing aspect to it. I think there is a certain time of day that is better to submit than other times.
I think every one of us would want to be at that luncheon...I know I have a million questions of my own too...any info that would help the whole community understand why they do the things they do and don't do...that would be great.
It was frustrating at parts because the two images aren't compatible, but I had fun putting it together and we needed an actual Troll King image because we didn't have one!

Finding the troll king would have been the easy part. Everything else looks hard as f**k, and I f**k hard.
Once I hit a million points, I'm going to check into this gimp thing and slow down on my meme submitting and concentrate on more elaborate memes. Sometimes I feel like I'm so caught up in imgflip milestones that my meme quality suffers. Every now and then I do a few good ones.
You know, I've been thinking the same thing. Comments get points too but for submissions I've decided to start working on more original pictures.
Gimp.org is the site - free, collective works. I have zero for basis of comparison but, it's photoshop and what I've done so far I guarantee is only scratching the surface of what it can do. I've also only been working with it for a couple months. I try to use it whenever possible so I have to figure out stuff. I have the layering down pat and was just saying the other day it was giving me trouble and I didn't understand it.
All I can say is I had no idea I was capable of any of this and if I can figure it out so quickly, some of you all will be f'in amazing in no time.
I strive to make the front page, same as everyone. :)

I should have been clearer.
