Similar argument to Twitter... The original meme would have to be unshared somehow, maybe the URL changed. Another technical issue is remembering / storing the location of the text boxes, the images that were added, etc. so basically without deleting it, we are limited to editing the title and tags, at least until it is featured.

Sorry to hijack, but I still don't understand what happens when a meme gets "featured". Could someone explain it, please?

When a meme gets featured it gets put on a page where everyone can see it. There are a bunch of pages of featured memes and you can sort them by latest or hottest

I see. I thought those were just plain ole submitted memes, and featured memes together. Can anyone see a normal submitted meme? And how does it get featured? Thanks.

I'm not one hundred percent sure how it gets featured. I think Imgflip has people who review submitted memes and decide which ones get featured. I think the only way someone can see a submitted meme is to go to the person's profile.

pretty much everything submitted gets featured unless it has nudity. Even things that are against submission rules like foreign language memes sometimes get featured

It's funny because websites always put up a stink about this for years, DeviantArt comes to mind, and when they finally do it, it ends up okay. It's like no freaking duh people, welcome to the rest of the internet! Same with being able to mute/ignore/block people, Disqus I'm looking at you. :( I hate redoing my memes all over again at 230am because I thought of a way to phrase it better. :(

If the majority of all basic memes take less than a minute to create, why is it really that much of a problem to recreate it?
