In my experience, nope. British people like stuff sold to them by British voice over artists. If it's an especially American product, Coke, American Beer for example, they might stick on an American voice over, and movie ads or American bands and singers albums advertisements might have an American voice over. In general though, what is advertised on TV in the UK, are UK products, so the ads are UK themed. I think Uncle Ben has an American Accent! Maybe ad makers in the U.S. think British accents add some gravitas to their ads....it's not likely British people would feel more inclined to believe a product was in any way better just because an American was advertising it to them.

Thanks for the insight! I really was wondering about this because so many commercials over here seem to do it more and more often. The "science" behind advertising and marketing can be quite interesting..at least to me, but I'm kind of a weirdo;)

Glad to help. My comment is my opinion, others may disagree. I do speak with some experience though, being British.
