Ist concert I ever went to was these guys. Someone thought it was a good idea to pair them with a "Sex Pistols clone" punk rock band called The Hounds. It made for a very strange night.

It really was as the punk movement was just taking it's first breaths outside of NY. With all the VA rednecks there that night, they were lucky to get out without a lynching :)

Yeah two totally different worlds. Rock and Punk, not so much now but at the time I can imagine could easily kicked off something :)

How long ago? Foghat doesn't make my top ten, but listened to them in high school and still like them today. Punk band?....not so much :)

Wow...you must be a fan! When I think of them, I think of more popular songs, such as American Woman, These Eyes and Undun. Sounds like you go pretty deep with them.

Almost all the music of the era. I worked most of the way through high school so I could spend my free time at the record store.

I remember buying my first album (vinyl of course) Heart's Dreamboat Annie at Odyssey Records. They're gone but now we have Zia. I bought several albums there which I framed for my "rock" wall.

A great era, it didn't matter what your car looked like, it only mattered that it had a stereo :)

I saw them as a teen and then again last year. Fred Turner's voice is as strong now as in the 70's. Love them!

Sledgehammer from "Not Fragile" is still one of the greatest speaker rattlin, cruizin' instrumentals ever... the bass solo still gives me chills.

I bought the Fool For The City album in 78 or 79 and I played the shit out of it. I still have it too.

That was the album they were touring at the time. I have so much old vinyl still, one of these days I will frame them up for the artwork, Yes, Uriah Heep being the most prominent of course!
