If you are ever in souther United States probably the Florida are there is a restaurant called fudpuckers and they serve alligator (make sure it isn't fudruckers they have similar names and are both good but fudpuckers is the one that has alligator)
You must not have had fresh gator. Fresh gator tastes like a pork chop with a marine flavor. Hard to describe. It's a taste from being in the water all the time like fresh frog legs. Frog legs taste more like chicken than gator.
