What the meme means is that the candidates got as far as they have by the public voting for them.

The candidates who have the most money supporting them get the most attention which gives the voters less choices who to vote for. There could of been a perfect candidate but without financial support no one would see him or her.

As far as I know all the candidates who are running were already elected officials (except for Donald Dump). The voters put them there. Let me say with all due respect that you do bring up a valid point.
Well don't forget Fiorina and Carson, but Trump sucked all the oxygen out of the room evidenced by Carson's narcolepsy. Seriously though I think its total frustration on both sides towards the established career politicians and a desire to return to a "statesman" situation where the official goes and puts in time then returns to civilian life. Politicians have been turning themselves into kings and lords for too long in this country.

Agreed. And just two electoral parties is retarded too.
Really Donald "Dump" can you really not think of anything better? I mean sorry for butting in but he's the ONLY candidate out there that will save America from itself.
What if I told you that your votes don't matter. Read this article:

Interesting read. So the popular vote is all that matters? (according to our founding fathers)

I think you read it wrong. The popular vote DOESN'T matter. Never has. There have been at least two instances when the people voted for one guy and the electoral college elected somebody else.
