It was never a matter of if, it was always a matter of when Iran would launch nukes at us.
What people need to understand is the level of religiosity with the Iranian Shia Muslims who make up the IRGC. Not all Shia Muslims believe like they do.
All Shia Muslims await the return of the 12th Imam. He is supposed to return when the entire planet is in chaos. Shia believe that will happen naturally. The Iranian Shia believe that won't happen unless they make it happen. This is what their entire nuclear arsenal is centered on.
The two nations they want to obliterate first is the United States of America and Israel. All Muslims are commanded to kill Jews, so destroying the nation of Israel is just part of their scripture.
But Muslims both Shia and Sunni (and any other faction) despise with impunity the USA. They call us the "Great Satan" while Israel is the "Little Satan". If the Iranian Shia Muslim were to actually obliterate the entire US all Muslims would cheer, just like they did when 9/11 happened.
So the Iranian 12er Shia Muslims want to initiate that chaos starting with us. That is why they have or had enough enriched uranium to blow the planet apart and they are just crazy enough to do that.
Which is why they will never agree to any deal that Trump tries to make with them. I am pretty sure Trump knew that when he started bombing Iran but he has to make a show of good faith before going any farther.
The fact is that no Democrat would have ever taken Iran seriously and as soon as they had long range missiles they would be launching nukes at us as soon as they could. I tend to think that most Republicans would have taken Iran seriously.
Democrats if you value your life and the lives of everyone you have close to you, you should be kissing Trump's feet right about now. He has at least severely weakened Iran. He should wipe the IRGC off the planet and free the people of Iran who remembered what it was like when they had freedom before 1979.
