Why they gotta do that

If an account goes inactive for more than 5 years without a single login or literally anything, that username should be changed to "User_*number*" and their old username should be available to the public again

If they didn't do much on their account, then yeah
I think people like Jying and Raydog should be able to keep their usernames forever

idk if Imgflip does this, but a lot of platforms will just straight up delete your account if you go inactive for 2 or 3 years

On websites like Chess.com you can "request" old usernames if the user in question has been inactive for several years, and if you get approved you can steal their username for yourself while they get labeled as "inactive." Unfortunately you have to be a premium user to do it. I wonder why more websites don't do that. Even if you have to be a paying member to do it, it's better than inactive usernames just sitting around and doing nothing.
